Sairis still wasn't sure about this "shenanigans" thing, but at least he got clothes out of it. He got nothing out of Monday's class (except for the experience of eating fried bugs).

So today he was wearing last week's shirt, even if it did look a bit odd with his medieval-style trousers and boots. It was clothing; you didn't sneer at free clothing.

His standard "charms available" sign was in the window, the artifacts were getting dusted, and the chair was getting side-eyed.

“I was unavoidably detained last week! I apologize. I was forced into a mandatory ‘team-building exercise’ with my coworkers elsewhere. It will not happen again!”

Mostly because Sam had instituted some anti-Muppet security measures that he hoped would save him from further Muppet activities. Sam might have forgotten about Wednesdays though. Oh well. He'd remember eventually.

“Now! My required team building activity involved a boat. We had to go on a boat. For a party!” Oh, the horror.

“Boat parties, of course, are quite weird! As are all ‘team-building activities.’” Did you know felt eagles could do airquotes with their wings? You did now!

“Some parties, of course, are not weird. Some are perfectly lovely occasions. You will not find those parties on this island. Here things are weird as we discussed in the first class!” In case you forgot that this was an odd place when you had a teacher literally made of felt talking to you right now.

“A non-weird party might have food and drink and respectable music that could be danced to appropriately. A party here would have…glitter.” Sam shuddered at the thought. “And inappropriate music! Wild dancing! Things would be loud! And unpleasant! Unless, of course, the party is one hosted by one Captain America who can, naturally, never be weird as he is all that is right and good.”

“Now! Let us discuss parties! What, to you, would make a good and not weird party?”

What up, Fandom? It's me, ya girl, Arden Finch, interrupting my day of lounging on the beach, hanging at the beach, and other beach-related activities, to bring you all the best news about yesterday that the squirrels could dig up or make up.

School started with Try Not To Die heading to Thailand where they got to pick flowers and eat bugs and I'm glad I spend my Mondays on the beach. Using metal detectors in Various Beach Things sounds like a much better way to spend an hour. Though maybe Let's Eat getting to try a tasting menu in a fancy Brazilian restaurant wins out overall.

Dorms were quiet as usual, but people were bustling about in Town. Dr. Isley shelved stuff and checked on her plants at Pick Your Poison, Officer McGarrett had the troopers go for a run around the island at the Trooper Station, the nurses interrogated Professor James about his whereabouts at the Clinic, and Mr. Northman forbade Mr. Tiny from making his own gin at Devil's Nest.

That's it for notes and I'm burning daylight, so I'll leave you with this super wayback hit, Summertime by DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince. Huh, that guy kinda looks like Will Smith. Weird. Anyway, this is ya girl, Arden Finch, signing off!

[I literally heard a teen say that the other week and instantly crumbled to dust]

Remy wasn't like. An official employee or anything. There'd been no paperwork, and even if he had been official, he'd probably have been fired for no-call/no-show months ago.

None of this was stopping him from showing up at the shop on Tuesday morning and getting set up to work there for the day.

Look. He'd always been breaking in here anyway. And, well, if the place was no longer run by Harley and now had someone who intended to run a real business in charge . . . well, they should get used to how this island tended to run. Which included strange men breaking into your place of business to run the till for the day.

So there.

Anyway. Needful Things was open. With a sale on antique knives. Because why not?

[yeah, open!]

"Right," Yennefer said. "One of you didn't know about this last week," week before last. Details, "so let's start with it: vaccines. Get them. A vaccine is when they poke you with a needle and then you don't die of--pick a plague, any plague, doesn't matter what plague you pick, they've probably got a vaccine for it. So pop on down to the clinic, tell them what world you're from, and let them come up with a schedule to catch you up on all the not-dying needles you need for that world and this one, hmm?" The clinic seemed to have...changed...somewhat since she had left the island, but surely they still offered vaccines. "Then when you go home you can be incredibly healthy and the envy of all your friends. No, I don't know how to get your friends vaccinated." Honestly, who worried about their friends dying of influenza? Not Yennefer, that was for sure, but then she wasn't sure Jaskier was aging anyway.

No, she hadn't just admitted Jaskier was her friend. Why did you think that?

"To answer your next question, no, I haven't the foggiest idea how the vaccines work. They seem to be science, whereas I could tell you all about it if they were magic. But they do work, so: get some. Are there any questions? I do hope not."

It was Duke's birthday. And for once, the three of them had managed to remember about it soon enough to actually celebrate it. Nothing too wild, just a three person date night at the mansion. Lucifer had cooked something glorious and absurdly fancy, complete with an over the top dessert, and they were now sprawled across the living room, discussing where to go from here.

"We just have so many options," Duke noted, watching his partners with a fond smile. "I'd suggest the pool, but traditionally we're meant to wait a bit after eating. Maybe upstairs? Or we could just stay here and fuck around. . . ."

He meant that very literally, yes.

[for the partners, will be NSFW. Will also be crazy slow, but omg, we remembered on the day!]

Welcome back to the beach! Here, take a metal detector!

"All right, we're playing with these bad boys today," Kitty greeted them. "These are metal detectors. They'll beep when they detect metal. Pretty self-explanatory. I've gone ahead and buried some things in the sand, so you have something to look for. There's also a little jackpot, so congratulations to whoever gets it!"

You better be good at this, Flint.

Anyway, just one note today about Gregorith looking stuff up at the museum, because...

*chittering*

The squirrels were glitching? I've never been able to say "sounds fake but okay" seriously, so I guess thanks for that. Have a good day, guys, and here's hoping there's less glitching.

It was June, somehow. Where had May gone? The Caribbean? More likely than you think!.

The rainbows were out in full force in the clinic today. Even the crab had decorated with rainbows. Stabby had also added some new postcards from the Bahamas, of beaches and crabs of course. Stark wasn't sure if they were from the lobsters, Stabby himself, or someone else endowment.

"I've got the usual coffees," he said, setting them down at the front desk.

"Where were you?" a nurse demanded.

"What?"

"You weren't here! So where were you? Did you send Stabby the postcards?"

"I didn't send any postcards! I wasn’t anywhere, really. Just... not here. Not kidnapped by raccoons either, " he added quickly.

The clinic was oo open and the alien was in and definitely not missing!

Hannibal greeted them at Portalocity cheerfully. "Today we'll be visiting Brazil. There's a restaurant called D.O.M. that I have been wanting to try. It has two Michelin stars and has consistently ranked among the top restaurants in the world. The chef is very highly regarded and curates a menu after intensive research and thought." Hannibal approved.

"We'll be enjoying the tasting menu, and won't know what it is until we get it, so this should be interesting."

Hannibal did enjoy the occasional surprise.

Eric was running behind tonight due to the time it took the sun to go down in June, but he owned the place and so it didn't really matter.

It was only when he came in that he remembered this meant Tiny was left unsupervised for longer and longer periods of time.

"No one wants you to be brewing your own gin," Eric told him.

Tiny rumbled a response.

"And no one wants a joint venture with the raccoon brewpub, either."

More rumbling.

"I don't care that their papers are updated."

The Devil's Nest was open! Skip the gin.

Steve was back in the Trooper Station with a lot of energy on a Monday, which meant the Troopers were out for a run.

The Troopers hated when Steve had a lot of energy.

"When you're all back, make sure you've taken the updated cybersecurity training," Steve said.

...the Troopers hated mandatory training more than they hated running, and that's why they were voluntarily doing another lap around the island while Steve caught up on emails.

The Trooper Station was open. Please have a crime.

"And crowded," Ahsoka added, which was the excuse for just how neon the sunhats were. "So make sure you don't get lost."

"Welcome to Thailand," Anakin said with a smile.

"More specifically Bangkok," Ahsoka said. "The capital and by far the largest city."

"You'll get to experience a lot of different things," Anakin said. "One of them should not be getting run over. Please look in all of the directions before stepping out anywhere."

"We'd prefer not to try to explain how we returned with less students than we started with."

"And there's paperwork," Anakin agreed, nodding.

And no one to push it off on, so please don't make them do any.

The plants needed a check-up. That was the only reason Pam was here, really.

Well. That, and a moment outside of Gotham. There'd been stories about some monster crashing around Marshview, somehere - she hadn't been able to find it yet. But rumors did not come from nowhere, and humans did often see the shadows of things they didn't understand - even if they didn't know what cast those shadows.

So it was a pensive Pam who opened up Pick Your Poison that morning, going through each shelving unit to check on the plants next to the products.

Gregorith was somewhat lost in thought this morning. He'd gone home for a few days, and while there he'd inspected the warehouse they'd set up on Level 9 for a certain billionaire, and he'd gotten lost. The warehouse was massive, and the rows upon rows of storage shelves all looked alike.

And then Sharkie had told him about the internet memes and creepy pastas about that, so now, while he was also keeping an eye out for museum patrons, he was scrolling through photos of liminal spaces.

There was a slab of pizza stuck to the ceiling. Dante could see it from here. ‘Here’ being the sofa, or the bathroom, take your pick. A sofa he was laying on in the bathroom.

“Huh,” he said. “Wonder how that got there.”

He looked at it for a while.

Maybe it was a sign that the sofa finally needed to go back into the living room. The windows were fixed now, and it’d be nice to be able to watch TV from somewhere that wasn’t the floor. Yeah. It was definitely time.

He sat up five minutes later, when the door opened. He scooted along the length of the sofa until he’d cleared the bathroom doorway and squinted. What was it now? Trish? Lady? Kat? Demons? Probably demons.

“Sorry, the door was unlocked! I’m just here for my jacket!”

Oh. No, it was that dude. What was his name? Pat something? Patrick? Dante squinted at him through the hallway. No, fuck, what was he thinking? He refused to be that guy. Paul. It was Paul.

“I think it ended up on the lamp in the kitchen!” he yelled. Which would be a pain in the ass, because that guy was pretty short, and he’d probably need someone to pry it off the lamp for him--

“No, it’s in the sink!” Paul yelled.

“Oh, thank fuck,” Dante muttered, dropping the outstretched arm that he'd been about to pull himself off the couch with. He laid back down. Heard some rustling around, the clink of the faucet. A yelled ‘bye’, and the door shutting.

Good. Maybe the sofa could wait a while longer, too.

And then, abruptly, it was dark. Shit. The electricity bill. “Shit fuck shitting hell—” Hadn’t he paid that? He thought he’d paid that. He fumbled for his phone, and-- oh, for fuck’s sake.

Five minutes later, he was up, dressed, and sticking his head out the back door to squint at the overgrown brickwork in the yard. “Trish, you still stalking me?! I could use a phone charge!”

[[ guess who i've missed playing since the Netflix animated adaptation started dragging every 00s Nu Metal act out of the grave to do theme tracks. mostly establishy, can be open if for some godforsaken reason someone has a reason to be in Limbo City or you want to call him after he gets his phone charged. ]]

Good morning, everyone! It is I, Miss Lydia Bennet, here to bring you all of yesterday's news the squirrels saw fit to report. So I shouldn't expect too much, if I were you.

Let's see...at the school, Let's Play Tourists visited Paris, Arts & Crafts & Dungeons & Dragons talked about the figurines they painted last week, and Paintball allowed the combatants the use of their supernatural powers. Congratulations to Dean Skywalker, who was the week's victor!

And speaking of Dean Skywalker, in the town, he joined Miss Skywalker in cleaning up at her warehouse. The lack of cleaning staff remains the most disappointing thing about this century. Ah, well. Until next week, dear listeners!

Jon met everybody at Portalocity looking more than a little sheepish.

"First of all, I would like to apologize for last week." He grimaced and rubbed the back of his neck. "I...well, um. Never mind. Anyway, I apologize. This week we're starting in Paris." He handed them each a ticket for a tour. "It'll be a few hours, but...well, we've got portals, so. And you can choose to spend a little longer if you like."

He led them through the portal and over to where their "fun" guide was supposed to meet them. Jon was rather dreading whatever a "fun" guide was, but hopefully it wouldn't be too dreadful.
